With well thought about matches of broodmares to stallions - Nitro Equine are breeding quality progeny. Combined with expert handling, schooling and competing we are producing safe kids ponies and competitive Performance Ponies and Sport Horses.

Available for transporting through any reputable equine transporter Nationwide.

We stood Welsh cob stallion Troon Typhoon at stud from 2017 to 2022 he has now been gelded and enjoyed as our family pony. We have 12 of his progeny and look forward to seeing them grow up.

Nitro Equine was started in 2013 by Rachael Kirk who decided to future breed ponies after realising the cost of quality ponies (let alone horses) was well out of reach for her family, namely her daughter Emma.

Now we are breeding 2-4 a year with the intention to produce as far as possible before sold. Using stallions with both live cover and AI. Our mares are selected based on nature, for their bloodlines and own ridden successes. Some of our young stock we retain for mare lines, some are chosen to produce under saddle and competition.

Our breeding comes from Welsh, German Riding Pony, Morgan, Connemara, Holsteiner as well as NZ East Coast, Northland and station-bred ponies & sport horses.

With the help of her family including daughters Emma and Lucie, catch riders and team members we are getting our brand recognized across NZ for not only our own horses but campaigning selected Projects and Sell on Behalf horses too.

Here are some of the horses and ponies we have bred at Nitro Equine since 2013. They have all have been stamped with our dedication, love and dreams - we hope all our future owners love them as much as we do.

They go on to become kids ponies, performance ponies, safe & honest mum's horses and sport horses. Some are retained as part of our breeding programme, some remain our own riding and competition horses, some are sold as weanlings, yearlings, 2yo's, as green broke or during their first season.

Here at Nitro Equine we could not breed these horses without the support of our riders, family, property owners and our friends who believe in the cause = happiness DO WHAT YOU LOVE, LOVE WHAT YOU DO.
